To the men who love ‘Ideal’ women

I told you I function on an equation of adventure and tangible threat,
But I have always played it safe, skulking around the streets of normalcy
I said I’m unafraid of the unknown,
But my friends say mystery leaves me squeamish

I told you I am more of a romantic with an unbridled hope ;
But my past lovers say my realism is distressing on most occasions
I said I never want the last bite ;
But do you really believe when I say that?

I love the way you love my image in your head,
You’re in love with a concept
An urban one at that
Of girls with a modern lifestyle ;
But cheese for a brain
I love the way you think I am all about sacrifices and cute euphemisms ;
That I am a perfect wooden table with no sharp edges, splinters, manufacturing defects
I love the way you expect me to be self-effacing
Because that complements your self-aggrandisement, doesn’t it?
You believe that I’m the gear box to your driving wheel. Direction for you. Pace for me

Here’s the thing,
Two can play at this game

      1. I don’t know much about the world. I was born in India and have spent all my life here. Plus I’m barely 18, too naive to comprehend it completely xD
        You should check out my blog too.
